@comingsoonnet: Francis Lawrence Offered The Hunger Games Sequel, Catching Fire

@HitFixDaniel: If you remember Francis Lawrence's handling of alt-reality dystopia on "Kings," he makes more sense for "Catching Fire."

@jenyamato: I prefer to think of Francis Lawrence as the guy who directed Gaga's "Bad Romance" video. That helps. #catchingfire

And won a Grammy for it, no less.

@particle_p: OH WHY DIDN'T YOU SAY SO?

(Wow... he actually did a lot of well-known music videos. )

@cleolinda: Heh. He also did Constantine and I Am Legend, I think? Water for Elephants was sweet.

[Several magical moments later]

@cleolinda: YOU GUYS, WE WERE TALKING ABOUT ACTORS FRANCIS LAWRENCE HAS CAST IN PREVIOUS MOVIES

@cleolinda: YOU GUYS, HE HAS EXPERIENCED THE HOLY PRESENCE OF SWINTON

~*~ @cleolinda: RT @particle_p: SWINTON could only be Coin.~*~

@esedia: OMG SWINTON IS MY EVERYTHING

@cleolinda: NOW THAT THIS THOUGHT EXISTS NOTHING WILL EVER BE THE SAME

(I'm doing somewhat better, catching whatever wave of enthusiasm comes my way. After a couple of weeks of dragging around, I seem to have gotten my flow back--a little sound sensitivity [probably because House of Bark is so much quieter now], a little jitteriness, a good bit of hypergraphia. Good times, or at least the good times that we make.)

SWINTON AS COIN OMG. This is a thing, and it needs to happen, like, yesterday.

Also, I'm glad to hear you're doing a bit better, and I hope things continue to improve (or at least, don't get worse - some days, that's the best you can hope for. :) )

How did we NOT think of Swinton for Coin before???? CLEARLY THIS IS A THING THAT NEEDS TO HAPPEN. WHO DO WE NEED TO TALK TO ABOUT THIS.

Cleo said SWINTON and I was like OMG SHE IS COIN! You must admit, Coin all but offers Katniss the Turkish Delight. (Fortunately, Katniss is much smarter than Edmund.)

Jumping aboard the SWINTON-as-Coin train before it leaves the station!

She's going to look amazing in the frumpy grey sweats. :)

I AM ON TEAM SWINTON AS COIN.

Now we wait for the inevitable wank that will follow the casting of Finnick...

It will be wanky no matter who they pick. I'm going out for more popcorn.

I need Finnick to be cast, like, yesterday.

If he is anything other than Greek god I'mma cut someone.

So long as it's someone who can pull off his lines and not look ridiculous, especially the bit about not wearing pants, I will be a happy person.

I guess I'm the only person who thought "Mentally unstable redhead dating loony brunette - Ms Collins, please don't troll the Twilight brats fans."

"Kings" as in the short-lived NBC show? *checks* Oh man, I was really bummed when that was cancelled. I feel like it may have succeeded if it had been given longer.

Jumping on the Swinton-as-Coin train now. I didn't really have a good mental picture of Coin when I read the books, but... yes, good. I like this.

Glad you're doing better. I hope things stay on the upswing for you.

Swinton as Coin? YES. GOOD.

Even though SWINTON looks nothing like my mental image of Coin, I want nothing more than for her to get the part now. It's too perfect. Also, I'm imagining her and Donald Sutherland having a creepy-off, and it is delightful.

Yes, I didn't picture Swinton as coin, BUT NOW IT IS A THING. A thing that must happen!

(Oh, casting, be fantastic, plz.)

Swinton as Coin would be PERFECT!!! How can we make this happen?

Other suggestions for Coin: Helen Mirren or Emma Thompson.

And if you haven't read Knife of Never Letting Go and its sequel, the Ask and the Answer, you really should; some of the parallels between tAatA and Mockingjay are really O_o.

I like Helen Mirren better, mostly because I pictured Coin around the same age as Snow.

Maybe I wasn't paying enough attention when Coin was described in the book, but I totally pictured her as Imelda Staunton.

I always pictured Helen Mirren as Coin, but I do think Swinton would work quite nicely. Yes.

I always pictured Jane Lynch as Coin but I could totally get on board the Swinton train.

Hey--you're probably already aware of this, but I clicked on your Sitemeter link because I was curious to see where your stats are, and it gave me an error message. I wasn't sure if you need to be registered on Sitemeter to see it or if it no longer links to the proper place, so I thought I'd let you know.
