Golden Globes ahoy!
yahoo oscars aqua
So my internet went out last night around 8:30, and it didn't come back until we spent half an hour on the phone with Charter recreating our network, and on top of that, I felt like hell. So finally I got to have a lie-down, and so I woke up a little after six, and didn't feel like liveblogging but felt kind of bad about it and had half made up my mind not to do it, but... I have Lizzie this year! It ought to be so much easier! I'll be able to face the TV as I write, rather than looking 45 degrees over my shoulder back and forth! And Meryl Streep is nominated! Again! She could easily win! Again! And when she gets up to speechify, you know she'll shitfaced! Again! Can I really bring myself to skip the Drinky Oscars? And the answer was: no. No, I could not. So I am counting on all of you, celebrities out there, who are not on the wagon to be drunk off your ass. Also, starlets, you might consider wearing gowns made of aluminum siding or Saran Wrap or cheese or something. Help me out here.

I just heard about her engagement to Neil Gaiman and I'm still in a state of shock. They move fast! Is he there for Coraline?

I hope you feel a little better and up to blogging. I think it's going to be a looong night.
I say that because I'm on my own here at 1am and flagging before it has even started! :)

Yeah, I feel (felt) kind of meh, but I limped on through. It helped that the show itself supplied some running jokes.

Tina Fey has just said that the 30 Rock cast plans to get shitfaced, so if they actually pull a win, I am hoping for a lot of jokes at NBC's expense. Not like that's already happened.

Sandra Bullock's dress is apparently made of actual plastic.

I thought she was just joking about that!

Yay! I was getting worried you weren't going to!

I considered liveblogging, but then I changed my mind and decided to read you instead. :D

Oh, thank goodness. This is the first year I've actually cared about the awards enough to follow a liveblog.

I came to LJ 'cause I thought..."OOOH, Cleo!" as soon as the GG came on.

I'm doing my best to get shitfaced, I really am.

Good! Can you mention it when they're about to announce Best Miniseries, so I can turn it on to see if "Little Dorrit" wins? Because that's all I care about. :-)

Man, I have not seen any of these movies. :/ At least the dresses are pretty... where's Neil when you need him...?

Mo'Nique! She deserved it.

Plus with Ricky Gervais as a host, I feel like it has even more potential than usual...;)

Yay for Anna Kendrick getting nominated at least! She did do a great job, I loved her in Twilight, and I'm glad she's doing bigger and better things...

Dresses, we don't need no stinkin' dresses

Oh, and ukelele. This rocked my world completely. :D

Re: Dresses, we don't need no stinkin' dresses

AWESOME!!! I love that she is tweeting from the show. :)

I liked the part on the red carpet where Tom Hanks & Julia Roberts wished Michelle Obama a happy birthday on camera. Made me smile it did. :)
