I still have to finish reading the books, but I adored Winter's Bone and Ree and Katniss have a TON in common, so I have faith that Jennifer Lawrence will do an excellent job with this.

I have a feeling this will be one of the rare instances where I enjoy the movies better than the books.

Can I ask why you feel that? Just curious — is it something about how JL looks as Katniss in particular, or something else about the books? I always kind of thought the books read very much like movies (probably because of Collins' screenwriting background).

Not at all how I picture Katniss. But also not a huge fan of the book--thought it was over-rated--so...

She really does look a lot older than 16, but I'm willing to suspend my disbelief! The picture is great - looks more like an illustration than a photo.

I'm on the edge of my seat waiting for them to announce who they're casting as Cinna. ^_^

She's way more gorgeous than I imagined Katniss being, but it IS Hollywood. And if Woody is anywhere near as awesome as he was in Zombieland, then I will be okay.
